Buying things in China

As requested, here is a breakdown of some things we (emm... I) have purchased in China.

These shoes were purchased for 45 RMB (~ $7 CDN) at a market in Tianjin. It's amazing that they fit me. That day, I learned that I am shoe size 40/41 in China...

This was purchased later on the same day. My shoe box fit inside. It was 35 RMB, so just under $6 CDN. I carry this bag with me everywhere. They have many different versions of this bag for sale. There is a student at school who has a larger version with leather handles.

Here is a picture of our cell phone. It cost 199 RMB. So about.... $30 CDN. It's very cute. When you turn it on, it says "H E L L O" and when you turn it off, it says "B Y E" No colours.

It started raining the day we bought the shoes and bag, so we also purchased an umbrella. It's super-cute. I saw another one the other day, except it was purple, and had HELLO KITTY on it.
This was 10 RMB... or about... ehm... $1.50 or so?

Why do the shoes look so dirty?

The shoes look dirty because the ground in China is really dirty, and it had just rained.
