I can't remember if I posted this before or not. But it's worth a look. This is our hot water unit underneath the kitchen sink. It provides about 90 seconds of hot water or so. So doing the dishes you're forced to conserve. We are already counting ourself lucky. Many apartments here don't have hot water in the kitchen sink. We don't have hot water in our bathroom sink. We do have a larger unit to heat our shower water. That one lasts for about five minutes, before taking an hour to reheat. Conserve conserve conserve!

Geez, I have to say your school is really cheap.
My grandparents in Nanjing (who are in their 80's and have a monthly retirement income of about 2000 yuan) live in an apartment that is as old as I am, and even they have enough hot water supply to take a nice and long (>15 minutes) shower.
