Here is the Tianjin TEDA Maple Leaf School Arts Building.











Here is the view across the courtyard from the Arts building. This looks onto the Science building on the right, and the sort of administrative services building on the left. In the middle are basketball courts, where you will find the kids anytime that class is not in session. They really love their basketball here. You can see Allison on the far left, with some of our fellow teachers walking with her. At the front of the basketball courts you can see what looks to be a big boulder. This is a piece of uncarved jade that was purchased for this school. The idea is that we are shaping the minds of students, just as a sculptor would carve this piece of jade. What a symbol.

Here is one of the classrooms. I will be using not this one, but the one next door which should be identical. There is a big TV there, and a projector that projects paper. So instead of overhead transparencies, you can write whatever you want on paper, and it will show it on the TV screen.



Lunch at the cafeteria. The cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students and staff. It's buffet style, and you can get rice with any number of different stuff, they change it every day. Mostly veggies - celery and eggplant and zucchini and stuff like that. There is also several different types of bread. Watermelon every day.
