Home

Welcome to our apartment. We are on the top floor, third window from the right. There are no elevators in any apartment six stories or less. So we are getting a workout every day walking up and down the stairs.

Here is the signpost outside our apartment. It's a complex of four buildings, all approximately the same size as our building.

And now we take you inside. Here is our "kitchen". It consists of one microwave, fan, one hot plate, and a sink. We bought ourselves a rice cooker in addition.

And here is the living room. Please excuse the mess. We weren't expecting guests! Actually, two of our luggages just arrived today, so we were in the middle of unpacking.

Here is the other side of the living room. We get maybe 15 channels on the TV, one of them is English and the rest Chinese. The fridge is small but functional. The water dispenser comes with the apartment, but the water is foul tasting, smells like the water that comes out of the tap. We fill up our water bottles at the school, it tastes much better. The other problem with the water dispensers around here, is that they don't cool the water. There's warm and there's hot. Well the whole time we've been here, there hasn't been a day when it's less than 32 degrees and humid, so drinking hot water isn't very appealing! But we get by.

Your apartment looks new. Are all the teachers in the same building?

Get a bike and explore the city. Get a mountain bike not one of those racing bikes, Calvin.
