Last year, we took two days to get here - we had a nice overnight
layover in Narita.
This year, we came all in one shot. Here's what our itinerary looked like:
9 hour flight from Vancouver to Narita
4 hour layover in Narita
4 hour flight from Narita to Beijing
1.5 hours at the Beijing airport getting organized and finding
people/passports
3 hour bus ride from Beijing to TEDA.
Of course, Calvin and I also left the house like 3 hours before our
flight took off to get to the airport on time...... so our total hours
spent in transit was closer to 26 hours. Of course, our friend Karen
took 33 hours to get here because she had to come from Toronto to Vancouver!
This time, we maxed out our luggage, and everything got here in one
piece at the same time as we did. (Yay!)
Now we are battling jet lag and cleaning. So to that end, we are
staying up late... and calling a cleaning lady to come in and help with
the cleaning.
